The Power Lynch Team
The Power Lynch Commercial Team has a wealth of commercial
broking experience - in excess of 100 years combined experience in
total across the team, in addition we have expertise in both the
Irish insurance and international insurance markets.
Our experience spreads across a wide variety of business
sectors with the ability to tailor policies and risks to suit
all business sizes. Whether you are a self employed tradesman
looking for standalone Public Liability cover or a multi-national
corporation with more diverse insurance needs, we have the in-house
experts that can provide you with the right impartial advice to
ensure that you get the most competitive prices in the market,
without compromising on cover levels.

In addition we also have experience in setting up and
administering schemes across a number of business sectors
which include Contractors, Property Portfolio's, Technology,
Leisure and Hoteliers. As we assign dedicated account
managers to each of our customers we ensure that each of our
commercial agents are experienced from quote to claim, which means
that all members of the Power Lynch commercial team take an active
role in the claims process. It is our view that the team
member who has placed your risk on cover is in a unique position to
interpret the policy wording, which is a crucial factor in
negotiating satisfactory claim settlements.
On the personal lines side of the business, our focused team
have experience with both household and private motor insurance.
Due to the nature of the personal lines insurance, were an
immediate turnaround is often required, our team are highly
organised and efficient. Our sister company Chill.ie which
targets specifically the consumer market in both house and motor
ensures that the large volume of personal lines business we place
in the market gives us access to preferential rates and discounts,
which means we can provide you with the most competitive
premiums.
Padraig
Lynch ACII
CEO
Padraig is a Director of Power Lynch & Associates Ltd which
was formed by both Padraig Lynch and Eamon Power in January
1999.
Padraig has 25 years experience in the insurance industry. His
career started in the underwriting and claims area of Insurance
Corporation of Ireland which is now known as Allianz.
Padraig subsequently decided to focus his career on the
insurance broking sector specialising in the general insurance
sector. He worked as an account executive for Glennon Insurance
Brokers and then moved onto Alan Tierney & Partners Ltd where
he remained for 10 years and was appointed a director and company
secretary.
Declan Humphreys
Group Director
Declan has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry
and has gained a wealth of experience having worked with both large
and small broking houses for some of Ireland's leading insurance
brokers.
During this time Declan has acquired superb leadership,
partnership building, interpersonal and communication skills whilst
operating in a results focused environment.
The majority of Declan's career was spent in corporate broking
where he was responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts which
included shopping centres, large sports retailers, pharmaceutical
companies, industrial manufacturers, transport sector and large
property owner's risks.
In his current role as Group Director, Declan is responsible for
the Commercial section of Power Lynch including retention of
existing business and new business development.
Michael Russell
Financial Services Director
QFA, Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance
Michael has over 20 years experience in the financial services
industry. Michael worked previously with Permanent TSB for 15 years
and has been with Power Lynch since 2003.
He is a Qualified Financial Adviser and holds a Certified Diploma
in Accounting and Finance. Michael was instrumental in the setting
up of the Financial Services Division of Power Lynch &
Associates which covers all areas of personal and corporate finance
along with all aspects of life insurance.
Michael brings experience, integrity & strong customer values
recognising the customer as a lifelong client who requires ongoing
professional, independent and impartial advice to help manage their
changing financial needs.
Gavin
Gilmore QFA FLIA TMITI
Financial Planning Director
Gavin has over 10 years experience in the area of pensions,
investments and risk planning. He worked previously with Canada
Life and prior to that with Caledonian Life, both leading companies
in the area of financial planning.
He holds a BA in Economics from University College, Dublin, and a
Diploma in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit School of
Business. He is a Qualified Financial Adviser and a Fellow of the
Life Insurance Association. He also is a Tax Technician Member of
the Irish Taxation Institute.
He is committed to providing our clients with a superior level of
service and ensuring that transacting business with Power
Lynch is as straightforward as possible.
Shay McCann
Senior Account Executive
Shay has worked in the insurance industry for the last 21 years
and has an in depth knowledge of all aspects of personal lines and
commercial broking. His career started in AA Insurance in
1990, he was involved in a variety of challenging roles within
their personal lines finishing off his career within AA as Head of
their Household New Business Team. From there Shay moved to
Hibernian Insurance as a claims handler were he dealt with motor,
household, commercial property & liability claims.
Shay joined Power Lynch & Associates early 2000 with a view
to growing their young but already successful insurance brokerage.
His initial role within the company was to maintain & grow
their personal lines book of business and also to assist in the
administration of their existing commercial accounts. Shay has
worked within the commercial department for the last ten years
responsible for growing the client base, Shay provides Power Lynch
& Associates clients a knowledgeable and professional service
specialising in all aspect of business insurance
Fiona Bourke
Senior Account Executive
Fiona Bourke is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance
Institute and has over 20 years experience in the industry.
Fiona has worked for Power Lynch as a Commercial Account Executive
for the past seven years handling the insurance requirements of a
number of key clients. Fiona's wide ranging experience and
expertise extends to a diverse range of niche sectors such as
manufacturers of detergents, angling associations and steel
fabricators.
Prior to joining Power Lynch, Fiona worked as a Commercial
Underwriter at Allianz Insurance Plc , Fiona worked in many
capacities within the organisation and was a key contact for a
number of corporate brokers specialising in dealing with Middle
Market Commercial Combined.
Luke
Calvert
Commercial Broking Manager
Luke joined Power Lynch & Associates Limited in December
2010 with over 10 years commercial broking experience. Luke
was new to the Irish insurance market when joining Power Lynch and
prior to this Luke worked in the London insurance market for both
Lockton Companies International Limited and the Heath Lambert
Group.
Luke's career to date has focused on accounts predominantly
positioned within the Real Estate and Construction sectors, with
his corporate clients ranging from FTSE listed companies, Pension
Funds, High Street Retailers and Managing Agents. Luke also has
significant experience in placing Self Storage risks, Hotel risks
and Excess Casualty insurance programmes. Luke's role within Power
Lynch & Associates is to oversee the day to day servicing of
all Power Lynch clients managing a team of Personal Lines and
Commercial Account Executives/Handlers.
John Kavanagh
Account Executive
John started his career in Insurance in 2006 initially working
in the Personal Lines Department dealing with both Household and
Motor new business. By 2008 he had progressed within BHP to the
Commercial Schemes department where he was initially an Account
Handler under their Social Housing Scheme. With the support of his
team he was responsible for managing and processing all claims for
the Community Voluntary and Charitable department.
With Johns ability to manage and support his clients it was a
natural progression to move into sales specialising in Community
projects as well as Drug projects. John has obtained a
Diploma in Loss Adjusting as well as being designated a Certified
Insurance Practitioner (CIP) He is currently studying towards
gaining ACII status.
